## Context for the climber

Awareness practiced as abundance not binge.

This chapter is a monomyth cairn on the Leaving Scotomaville climb (Volumes 1–3). Later Initium cards and AISM answers inherit its lived evidence — not the other way around.

## Print evidence

Print chapter text lives in the full trilogy PDF (Onus Probandi). This deposit prioritizes the **filmed/spoken transcript** so AISM cites clean carbon voice without OCR wrap artifacts. Open the PDF when you need page layout, spreads, or exact print wording.

SCOTOMAVILLE: 01.05 Abundant Awareness

I think it was a little unfair- I've got two cameras today -it's unfair to start awareness..and, by the way, welcome back to Scotomaville! Yeah, there's a little breeze coming in, it's gonna blow pretty hard today, so I've got to shoot this early and what I wanted to get to was that it's a little unfair of me, in the middle of a global pandemic, to leave you hanging without good tools to deal with the idea of scarcity and abundance. Just to make you aware without the ability to fix it? That's really irresponsible on my part.

We're gonna have part two on awareness specifically in the topic of abundant scarcity. The reason being - you might be out of toilet paper, you might be out of a job, you might be out of food, you might be out of money- all of those things triggering deep emotional things and I, you become aware of it! Oh great, now I know it's broken! Okay. So what happens? You shut down, you quit, over, done.

It's like going out mountain biking. Very first time I got on this thing, I hit a rock garden, and I slowed down, and that's the worst thing to do! Then your wheels just stop, and I fall down! So, I don't want that to happen to you. I want you to have at least a minimal understanding of the way out of blindness.

Becoming aware is not the way out. Becoming aware is the first step of how bad it is. We're gonna go into a little bit on that later. Part of what makes this tough..is that your journey is not for you alone. And you're not gonna do it alone, and it's not just about you. Your journey, your personal Everest? It starts with awareness, but it's on multiple tracks and I can say that right now, I'm doing at least four. See I'm, shooting for the YouTube channel, I'm building out Scotomaville as a website for marketing and selling the book, and I'm working on the workbook and I have an InDesign file for the actual physical book. Four different, simultaneous facets while I'm being self-aware and attempting to communicate.

Okay. Go back to the lesson just before this. I opened with "Gooooooood moooooorning Vietnaaaaaam!"- Robin Williams Good Morning Vietnam. It's critically important for you to understand - Oh..it's right there! He's learning how to fly. An airplane, when they cut off the throttle and yeah, emergency maneuvers. It's critically important for you to understand what I meant by including a snip of Robin Williams.

You see mimicking is essential. It's one of the earliest skills we learn as a child. Think of your own kids, if you have them, or think back as far as you possibly can, to your own childhood, and..there's the Ranger..and think..how you learned! You followed somebody. I've frequently referred to the formation of geese..the one in the front? Which is you!..looking around going 'Where the heck did everybody go? Where is everyone?' Learning to mimic others is really critical.

The chevron of geese? They fly along and then they rotate out, right? They learn by doing, together, not alone. One of the things that I have found, really works, a tool in your tool belt that you want to use to be able to get to the point of awareness, understanding and actualization-if you will-is your mirror. As often as you shave? Start with affirmations.

An affirmation is when you're talking to yourself about YOUR VALUE! You know - not the stuff that comes into your head, not the stuff that your parents yelled at you, not those things that the bullies on the block, you know, pounded on you and told you that you were! No No No No! The things that you feel deeply inside, might be true, but you're ashamed to even look yourself in the eye..and say so..Daniel ! You are a fabulous leader! Because you are incredibly curious and you're willing to be vulnerable and that makes you authentic, nothing to be afraid of, because you are strong because you know yourself !

Whatever, whatever that is for you! I don't know, it changes all the time for me, but it started with some- I had to take a little postcard, stick it onto the mirror, you know like a sticky note, and actually read it, to begin with. Looking yourself right in the eye and affirming your value.

It's easy to mimic, when you watch someone else do it. You know, when foiling, skiing, mountain biking, whatever your thing is. But this is affirmations, see uh, post-it note? And you can do a simple one like this, you are..A-B-C. So, hey Daniel? How are you doing today bud? Yeah, you are stinking resourceful ! You really are ! You are one of the most persevering, ongoing, never give up, no matter how many times you crash, fail or fumble, you get up. You are resilient! No matter what they think or they say or who does not show up! Cause you have got what it takes to put in the effort and be ready when the market is. Right. Cause, you do the work! You are not afraid. You are..what are you if you're not afraid? You're..great! There's a good one for you.

How about the time when that guy, recently, yeah remember that one? Okay so, not only were you insightful but you were responsible and you did what took..what it took, to be done, at the time. Which is why you..hmm..do you deserve it? Yes, you do deserve it because..resourceful, persevering, faithful, transparent, hard-working, put in the mileage, yeah.. you deserve the reward. There goes someone walking by in the background, can you see them? Yeah, well not quite in the frame. But..so it becomes embarrassing. Yeah, look at you. It does. Your kids will walk in the bathroom n go 'Dad, whatchu doing? Why are you talking to yourself?' Whatever!

What happens is, your eyes see and record. Your ears, which are right here, your amygdalas are right inside there, right? So what happens is, this stuff goes in and imprints, right, along with all that other stored memory, and they can be associated. And therefore, you can override and change what was drilled into you by your parents. You're a..POS! Your a..you're not..You can override it, by choice. That's a tool that's really handy in your toolbox.

Okay, that's one way that your eyes see, your ears hear and you rewire because now you have memories of yourself being a fool in front of the mirror and you don't care anymore. The next thing is pick up a phone, a camera, a device, journal it. Your kids, your grandkids, you're AI in the future, right? Your avatar? You need a corpus. You need the data collected for that. Or it's gonna be an idiot. You know? So I'm doing that for my own avatar, my own AI, my own bot if you will, building my corpus. And I'm flying ahead because I have made it-this journey, successfully, from blindness to awareness, understanding, and fulfillment. I'm living out the dream that I've wanted to.

So, I don't want to leave you hanging in the middle of a pandemic. I want you to have a tool. It's called mimicking. Find something, someone, some pattern to mimic. I'm saying a good place to start is a card, an affirmation card. Stick it on your mirror. Talk to yourself, read books, watch videos. You got YouTube. Napoleon Hill, Dale Carnegie, Wayne Dyer, and Tony Robbins, Zig Ziglar. I could just go on and on and on with names of people that I, for years and years, soaked in-the way they believed-so that I could find out, well, if it's true for them-it might be true for me! And I tried it out.

That's how I'm learning to mountain bike. My wife and I both, right? Learning to hop over this rock garden, and, [Music] I'm hoping that you'll follow us in the chevron. Okay so, abundance and scarcity. Don't miss the Robin Williams bit, because it's actually speaking to mimicking. And here's why: If you don't, you'll follow it-you'll be part of the herd, you'll be hoarding. There's something to think about. If you don't learn to mimic someone who's going where you want to go and where you want to end up and be, you're just going to be part of the herd and right now you'll be hording. Okay? Don't do that. Look yourself in the mirror, do some affirmations and start taking the steps. And when people trigger you, and when you get an emotional flare, take notes on that. Talk to yourself.

The point I hope you can catch here: Things don't get easier as you become more aware, they get harder. In the beginning, you didn't see any of this stuff happening. But as you become more self-aware you get flooded with..those are the donkeys running by.. what's that noise? Then, you're aware of all kinds of stuff that are always happening! And there's triggers and triggers on triggers and there's like..this is my fifth take of this, but what I want you to to grab from it is that..abundant awareness is a pain in the neck! You have so many things to deal with and there's so many layers and they're all interconnected and when you change one thing, the dominoes all fall and it can be a crapload of work, for many many years to get up the hill. Where those triggers are like uh-huh, mmhmm, okay, here's another one!

One of the very best benefits of improving your self awareness, is that you become aware of the abundance around you. And from that richness, you can design a life that's exactly the way you want it. It's pretty fabulous. So, right now it's not windy, but it's sunny, it's not too hot, and there not a lot of people, right now, around. So I am working outdoors. I can't have a better work environment than that. Working on something you love doing? With people you like to be around? Earning what you can earn? Wow! Talk about abundance! And it comes from awareness! So I want to encourage you. It's worth pursuing. It's a lot of work up that mountain, but it's absolutely worth the climb.

SCOTOMAVILLE REFLECTION v1.05 Abundant Awareness

Stress will drag up some interesting emotions. You can learn a great deal IF you are paying attention. In this reflection episode on v1.05 Abundant Awareness, Daniel delivers strong examples of how being abundantly aware can be a superpower, and not debilitate or trigger amygdala hijackings.

Leaning from episode v1.05 about modeling a chevron, mimicking and self-reflection, you can watch how to deal with emotional memories, how to follow in a way someone began, and make changes by maturing, not just getting older.

welcome back to another episode of tomaville in this case it's the reflection video for volume one episode five on abundant awareness in episode five i cover basically three ideas that of the chevron the way geese fly in formation and that you'll find that in following someone you can make progress and you can have a company a companion a wingman second that you should start your reflections your self-awareness in the mirror and then move yourself to a smartphone to a device that you can then look back over time at your journey talk about weight off the shoulder stress done now we're back to a bit of normality predictable if that's what you want to call our life and third you should practice mimicking welcome back to skatomaville i was laughing this morning i was thinking of that classic robin williams good morning vietnam and some of others that i will introduce in this episode to me there's three main advantages to having abundant awareness one so that you can have insights into your own behavior that lead to understanding two so that you can leverage those thoughts in order to change course and three so that you can gain confidence in your ability to harness those strong emotions and that self-criticism angelina and i watch drive our comedy regularly these are people that i highly respect and that i am learning to mimic people that have turned self-criticism and doubt into a superpower i'd like you to meet me soon zayat my name is maysoon zayed and i am not drunk but the doctor who delivered me was he caught my mom six different times in six different directions suffocating for little me in the process as a result i have cerebral palsy which means i shake all the time look it's exhausting unlike shakira shakira meets muhammad ali [Laughter] cp is not genetic it's not a birth defect you can't catch it no one put a curse on my mother's uterus and i didn't get it because my parents are first cousins which they are it only happens from accidents like what happened to me on my birthday now i must warn you i'm not inspirational i don't want anyone in this room to feel bad for me because at some point in your life you have dreamt of being disabled come on and journey with me it's christmas eve you're at the mall you're driving around in circles looking for parking and what do you see 16 empty handicapped spaces [Applause] and you're like god can i just be a little disabled and now josh blew people always ask me if this bracelet is one of those copper magnetic healing bracelets like how does that thing work oh yeah man i was in a wheelchair last week this thing's been kicking some butt for me man [Music] i'm gonna put it on this arm next week [Applause] actually i better take it off soon you know i don't want to get too better that might mess up my gig you know [Music] i have to tell corny white guy jokes [Music] i gotta say this has got to be the best make-a-wish ever [Applause] alabama i actually come from a long line of disabilities because i stutter my father was blind and my mother and brother are alabama fans so uh auburn had the great running backs like bo jackson and he was like me cuz he stuttered it was so kind of like bo stutters and then two years before that hershey walker was at georgia and he stuttered him like well obviously if you stutter you're gonna be a football player so i was the starting quarterback for my opelika junior high school football team in 1985 and i'll never forget the first game of the year we were down by five we had all three timeouts left but i knew that i was gonna be able to drive my team down for that winning score and they were gonna carry me off the field like rudy it was gonna be the best thing ever i'm like yeah man i remember i got behind my center and they call me for delay again so they backed us up five yards i got behind him again i did and i dropped out of pass and him my best friend adrian's telling my best friend to they hit him over the middle for a 14-yard gain i ran up to the referee i said time out time i time out he charges with all three timeouts we lost the game that was my first and last start but uh that's okay i wasn't meant to be a football player but but but but it it's all cool i i need to let you know right about that this stutter is a hundred percent real but for some of the storytelling purposes i do fake the stutter somebody say he doesn't really start her trust me my mama says jody we'll never forget your first word yeah we don't know what in the world you said but had about 12 syllables we thought you were going to be a genius of something in volume 2 episode 6 i'll introduce blaise pascal he has a very interesting statement in his wager pascal's wager learn of those who have been bound like you and who now stake all their possessions these are people who know the way which you would follow and who are cured of an ill of which you would be cured follow the way by which they began blaze points to mimicking you see follow the way by which they began you're looking you're watching my self-reflection video modeling series i'm encouraging you to do the same to record your journey so that you can then look back this being a reflection video i'd like to make my point onas prabande burden of proof that abundant awareness can be a superpower we've had this airstream for just over a year about 15 000 miles and tires are supposed to last 35 to 50 000 miles and we've completely destroyed three tires in 14 000 miles they've been giving me a sense of anxiety because when they delaminate they destroy this fabulous aluminum shell tens of thousands of dollars of damage and so we've been looking ahead on where we could have them replaced and supply chain problems making it difficult we finally found some in billings montana and got ourselves all the way from arizona through texas over those thousands of miles to billings tada relief no our payment was rejected i had to leave without the tires in a very sad shape and i felt this huge sense of shame and anxiety and fear and i started fixating abundant awareness i claim that the aim is not to incapacitate you or to fixate you because that's what was happening to me i started remembering a pair of boots that i wore as a child in third or fourth grade shame and humiliation of how i had worn them out just like the tires on the airstream and how i was unable to replace them i was just a kid i didn't know how to do that and it was very um emotional and it was triggered at every casing that i found on the side of the road or every rv that had pulled over with flat tires and damage and there were lots of them that i found angelina's strategy of simply sleuthing out that they should have just called and got an authorization code and it was fine so we were able to then look into our future travels find another location modify our route and get to that location and what a relief to have new tires and the risk of damage behind us but the emotions the memories of these boots you see i became aware again of experiences and memories that were captivating my adult point of view being able to look back through self-reflection through your videos as i am doing you know it's difficult not to find patterns in things our eyes just naturally go find that um but there's also something about this and this i don't know what these birds find so humorous but they keep just letting their loads loose right on the airstream right after i clean it i'm able to find a sense of rest let it go i'm an adult that's a child different experience i am who i am now not who i was then that gives me confidence which is what i'm wanting to relay to you you should have a wingman to bring but you might be in my chevron i'm bringing you blaze pascal follow in the way by which i began a couple of decades ago i i read a book a couple decades ago and i've tried to find the author kennel a couple of decades ago i read a book that gave me an insight which i'd like to pass to you a couple of decades ago i read a book that made a strong impression on me it was about a young man a potter throwing clay on his wheel in the projects in philadelphia and in the summer it'd be so hot he would go on in his front porch and some of the kids hanging out would see him doing that eventually he asked some of them or invited some of them to come up and put their hands in the clay to actually do what he was doing and he had this great experience because he saw these young men transform their belief system by sticking their hand in that clay and realizing for the first time that they could in fact create something that they had inside of them the ability to turn a lump into a vessel into something useful they got that idea that they could be creative here i am trying to convey that to you self-reflection video modeling is helping me to manage the amygdala hijackings to go beyond being aware of the root and the memories that come but being able to acknowledge them and know that i can go beyond that because i can look back on episodes and on years of doing this to say oh i've gained skills i have confidence i have experience and i want the same for you i want for you to be able to re-mold your strong emotions to reshape your actions and your reactions to reset your sail even if the wind changes start recording start looking back start having your own reflections and my hope is that i have said more with less words helping you get that that goddess see you next episode [Music] as a postscript a production lesson following this for those of you who are creating your own i also remember the anxiety i had as a child failing for my choir um tryout because i didn't know the words to the song i was asked to sing and i panicked and walked out of the room and that was the end of choir tryouts or singing for pretty much much of my life i started feeling that same thing yesterday and shooting and that's why i included those several clips attempting [Music] to do the concluding remarks and so let me show you for those of you that are curious you see in preparing for this episode i wanted to get my thoughts so i just jotted them out here's a good outline to follow so i know the script i know where i'm going well then i got even more confused on that and needed to write it in more detail and then when i tried to do this even though it's broken up into little scenes it was too overwhelming even when i folded it it was too much to try to and you'll notice that i have to look down and that's because then i went and put everything on little cards and mounted those cards on the front of my tripod and even trying to follow those see so abundant awareness comes at a price of revisiting early woundings that you've shut out of your life from decades and decades i hadn't thought about that choir fail that tryout fail for i don't know 40 50 years probably since i did it in fourth or fifth grade so for what it's worth you're gonna dig up all kinds of memories but i'm telling you it's still worth it to get that goddess gutomaville
