## Context for the climber

Why before how on Personal Everest.

This chapter is a monomyth cairn on the Leaving Scotomaville climb (Volumes 1–3). Later Initium cards and AISM answers inherit its lived evidence — not the other way around.

## Print evidence

Print chapter text lives in the full trilogy PDF (Onus Probandi). This deposit prioritizes the **filmed/spoken transcript** so AISM cites clean carbon voice without OCR wrap artifacts. Open the PDF when you need page layout, spreads, or exact print wording.

Constraints challenge us to ponder whether we are truly lost or merely delayed, compelling us to reaffirm our commitment to finding our path based on our purpose.

Through transparency and personal growth, you shall surmount limitations, leaving behind a legacy that ignites inspiration in others.

Welcome to the first episode, where we delve into discovering meaning in your journey and uncovering your true purpose. Embarking on a purpose-driven expedition demands clarity on your desired outcomes. Nevertheless, it's crucial to acknowledge the hurdles ahead, including production, financial, emotional, and market obstacles. But remember, these hurdles are integral to the journey, as Marcus Aurelius wisely said, "The obstacle is the way."

To discover your motivation, ask yourself why you embark on this journey and document it. Consider whether it's for self-growth, family, or leaving a lasting legacy. Anthony Robbins once advised that if internal motivation eludes you, envision yourself on your Deathbed, reflecting on what you might regret not pursuing.

Engaging in an expedition often means surpassing your perceived capabilities, aiming high like shooting for the moon. Even if you fall short of your original goal, progress will still be made, just like the saying goes, "If you aim for the moon and miss, you'll still end up over your neighbor's fence."

A Personal Everest signifies a transformative journey, determined by the measure of your commitment. The cost of that measure lies in your willingness to face obstacles by shifting your beliefs. This endeavor demands considerable effort, both in rewiring your neural connections and the emotional toll of challenging your worldview. During the winter, we explore the profound significance of rediscovering purpose and revisiting the meaning in our lives. Despite weeks of sub-freezing temperatures, there was tranquility under the blanket of snow, beckoning for attention.

Venturing out, you might encounter constraints on your usual comforts. For instance, on my 2016 Expedition, cycling across the Great Basin National Park I found unexpected money while reflecting on God's provision, reminding me of the importance of service and purpose. Well... that wasn't my reaction to the discovery at the time. You see I had been cycling with all my belonging in tow grumbling out loud for hours that morning - like Israel crossing the desert in the book of Exodus. I was frustrated about the cold, and having to make $15 stretch every day for food, parts and camp fees. My self-talk about meager finances and harsh conditions brough on a hot flash, so I stopped, quite emotionally and abruptly. Yanbking my outer jersey over my head, I spotted a dollar bill stuck in the roadside sage brush. I shouted frustration out loud. WTF? My wallet had been evicting dollar bills along the baren landscape? I was near tears when I spotted a twenty dollar bill. I didn't own a $20. There was $118 at my feet. A still small voice in my head asked my why I was so frustrated. It wasn't my duty to create provision. It was my job to learn WIDWID. Point made.

By dedicating yourselves to a purpose-driven expedition, you'll embark on a journey of self-discovery and personal growth. You won't need to leave your home, work, or responsibilities, but you will be tested, burdened, and challenged to assess the flexibility of your habits, vices, and coping mechanisms. Though challenges and obstacles are certain, they present invaluable opportunities for learning and progress. Through transparent reflection and embracing change, you can overcome blind spots and fears, enabling you to see the world with fresh eyes and leave a lasting impact on the world around you.
