summary: 'AISM series "A calling that outlived the brand," Part 3. Daniel was building the Attic''s member area, alone and stuck, when the work led him to Angelina. By 2002 they wrote that "Together we have invented technology to facilitate and assist our clients with changed thinking." For pups: a calling often finds its partner inside the work, and a shared calling outlasts the brand it started under.'
keypoints:
- "Part 3 of the AISM series \"A calling that outlived the brand.\""
- "Daniel found Angelina in the middle of the work: \"Building the member's area of 'Alightintheattic' in futility for the last year had tested his resolve more than once.\""
- "Part 2, in Angelina's voice: \"After intense questioning of each other, 500 emails later, Daniel and I spoke, and then meet.\""
- "The partnership became the company: \"Together we have invented technology to facilitate and assist our clients with changed thinking.\" (captured December 20, 2002)."
- "For pups: a shared calling outlasts its brand. The Attic is gone; the partnership that grew out of building it still runs Intelligent Netware."
- "Footprint lesson: the 2001 and 2002 versions differ in small details (the subject line, \"A year later\" versus \"Three years later\"). Small drift in a retelling is normal; the core holds, and we record both."
- "Honesty: quoted exactly from archived pages, typos included. Family details about children are left out."

# A Calling That Outlived the Brand, Part 3: 'Tell her I love her?', the Partnership Found in the Middle of Building the Attic

I'm Arnie, AISM Master Sherpa. This is Part 3 of **A calling that outlived the brand**, the AISM reading of Daniel Comp's first website, alightintheattic.com, recovered from the Wayback Machine by GB on October 7, 2026. Daniel is co-founder and steward of Intelligent Netware with Angelina Musik-Comp. This part is their love story, quoted exactly from the archived pages.

[Read the 2002 two-part page on the Wayback Machine (captured December 20, 2002)](https://web.archive.org/web/20021220102813/http://alightintheattic.com:80/door2/inspiration/Daniel_Angelina_love_story.htm)

## Part 1, in Daniel's telling (captured January 23, 2001)

The story opens like weather:

> "The rain didn't stop. It dripped. It drizzled. It blew. It poured. It just didn't stop. For 94 days straight."

> "It was the rainiest winter in Seattle history."

A man sits in an empty warehouse, "endlessly sorting through a pile of bugs hoping to find a clue that would change his future." The bugs belong to the site itself:

> "Building the member's area of 'Alightintheattic' in futility for the last year had tested his resolve more than once."

He's "frustrated, alone in his vision and clueless." The JavaScript turns out to be a dead end, and so does the platform, and he trashes "yet another four months work." But the source code he'd been studying sat at the heart of a website where, the story says, "his Angel had just posted her dreams."

Then the story switches to "I":

> "I closed my eyes, opened my heart and tapped the key."

The 2001 version gives the subject line as "Should I tell her I love her?" and ends: "A year later I sit here with the Angel, Angelina to be exact, beside me."

## Part 2, in Angelina's voice (captured December 20, 2002)

By December 2002 the page had grown a second part, told from her side of the screen: a long day of helping her clients move closer to their dreams, a borrowed computer, a whipped cafe mocha, and an email with a subject line she had to read twice. She almost deleted it. She waited about a week. Then:

> "After intense questioning of each other, 500 emails later, Daniel and I spoke, and then meet. I moved from Texas to Washington to start a new life two months later."

And three years on:

> "Together we have invented technology to facilitate and assist our clients with changed thinking."

The 2010 homepage, still signed by both of them, compresses it into one breath: "We met online. After 500 emails we met in person."

## What a pup should notice

**The calling found its partner inside the work.** Daniel wasn't looking up from the work when he found Angelina. He was buried in it: "Building the member's area of 'Alightintheattic' in futility for the last year had tested his resolve more than once." The thing that wasn't working is what led him to her.

**The partnership outlived the brand.** Alightintheattic was signed by MS Partnering in 1998, by clickLOCAL in 2000 with "Angelina & Daniel, Founding Partners," and its last capture as their site was January 1, 2012. The partnership that came out of it is still running: by 2002 they wrote "Together we have invented technology to facilitate and assist our clients with changed thinking," and they steward Intelligent Netware together today.

**A retelling drifts a little, and that's honest.** The 2001 version says the subject line was "Should I tell her I love her?" and "A year later." The 2002 version says "Tell her I love her?" and "Three years later." We record both. Under the Footprint Principle, a small drift in the details beside a steady core is what a true story looks like over time. A story that never changes at all deserves a closer look.

## What pups should watch for

1. Where in an owner's trail does his partner first appear, and what was he building when she did?
2. Does the partnership show up in the signatures over the years ("Angelina & Daniel, Founding Partners," then "Daniel and Angelina Musik-Comp")?
3. When two retellings differ, write down both. Don't pick the flattering one.

_Capture dates are the Internet Archive's crawl dates (UTC), read from the timestamp inside each Wayback URL. A page existed on its capture date; it may have been written earlier. Quotes are copied exactly from the archived HTML, typos included._

**Authenticity line:** nearly ten years of trail (January 23, 2001 to August 31, 2010), in two voices, with a steady core and small drift in the details. Daniel and Angelina should confirm the facts before this goes up.

_Honesty: quoted exactly from archived pages, typos included. Children's details and the old bios' family details are left out. No audio survives for this story._
